Bootcamp III at Educons University: Bridging Academia and Industry through the BETTER Life Project

BOOTCAMP III CONNECTING STAKEHOLDERS WITH ECRs was held at Educons University on Thursday, June 6, 2024. The Vice-Rector for Science and International Cooperation, Prof. Dr Andrea Andrejević Panić, and Assistant Provincial Secretary for Agriculture, Water Management and Forestry, Dr Mladen Petreš, welcomed the representatives of the Board of Directors of the Faculty of Business Economics, Faculty of Environmental Protection and Faculty of Ecological Agriculture, Deans of all 3 Faculties, and early carreer researchers. New tools for networking, promotion and commercialization developed through the BETTER Life project were presented by Danica Mulić, PhD student and project team member. Mentorship program was presented to all participants, and Prof. Dr Gordana Racic invited representatives of the companies to join Mentorship program developed by the BETTER Life project. After that, an interesting panel discussion was held on the topic of how doctoral students can contribute to solving real business problems with their research. The focus was on the topic of circular economy, microplastic in the environment, rural areas and youth and women positions in agriculture. Early carreer researchers highlighted issues related to the necessity of finding financial capacities in funding research in life sciences. Industry representatives considered these meetings very effective as they need direct contact with academia and research institutions to solve issues they confront proactively.
