🌿 BETTER Life Summer School: A Journey from Classroom to National Parks ðŸŒ¿

The BETTER Life Summer School kicked off with two days of interactive teaching at CZU in Prague, where participants dove into the world of Socially Engaged Research (SER). Senior researchers from the BETTER Life and other projects shared their insights and experiences, offering real-world examples of SER through various EU-funded projects that utilized transdisciplinary research methods. Lively round table discussions allowed participants to engage with experts, discussing challenges and opportunities in socially oriented research.

After these enriching sessions in Prague, the group split into two, each heading to different national parks to apply their newfound knowledge in the field.

One group traveled to KrkonoÅ¡e National Park, while the second ventured to Bohemian Switzerland National Park, where they faced the challenge of “Revitalization of Nature after a Major Fire” and discussed ways to reopen the park for tourism. Participants had the unique opportunity to engage with six key stakeholders, including mayors, local entrepreneurs, business owners, local citizens, and representatives from both the Bohemian and Saxon Switzerland National Parks.

This real-world application of SER offers a deep, hands-on understanding of how conservation, tourism, and community interests intersect in national parks.

Stay tuned for further updates!
